No fanfare no BS no Stalin it’s time for
an absolute smorgasbord of fried rice and court effing hosted its second
annual fried rice eating contest last week and it brought out the local
competitive eating community in full force the contest is a grueling
30-minute affair designed to discover who has the biggest stomach for cooked
rice we had myself Reina is crazy Kevin Ross Erica do Frank Pollan Matt Zion
from reckless eating and Edward Gomez duking it out for a shot at a 240 gift
card to the restaurant eating a ton of rice is no walk in the park but it’s
hard to complain when it’s fried rice and it tastes this well-put-together
fire makes it better we had a few bowls of egg fried rice then we had a couple
bowls of chicken fried rice and finally we closed off with a treat
lobster fried rice not bad fair for a day’s work this is probably one of the
fanciest eating contests I’ve ever participated in as soon as you finish
the bowl they popped a hot fresh one right in front of you sometimes it was
tough to eat because it was so temperature hot but that’s where having
so much water came in handy how many bowls of rice was I able to get through
and was it enough for a sweet victory you’ll have to watch and find out and boom goes the dynamite I managed to
complete a staggering 12 heaping bowls of fried rice enough to beat out the
field and take first prize this was one of my biggest victories and my first
contest win since 2017 October 2017 and so I will savor it for my trouble I’ve
got a $240 gift card to the restaurant and a very full stomach if you enjoyed
