How to Use Tenacity Herbicide
7 Comments

Tenacity is a selective pre and post emergent
herbicide concentrate that targets a variety of weeds such as Chickweed, Clover, Crabgrass
, Dandelion, Foxtail, Goosegrass, Henbit, and Nutsedge. Tenacity prevents photosynthesis in plants.
It will absorb and start working immediately, however, it can take up to 2-3 weeks before
full death occurs on your weeds. Some weeds will need a follow up application. If rainfall
hasn’t occurred within 10 days after a pre-emergent application, activate with some irrigation. To prepare Tenacity, use the included syringe
for measuring to dilute the product with water in a pump sprayer . If spot treating, measure
out 1/2 teaspoon of Tenacity with 1 and a 1/2 teaspoons of surfactant in 1 gallon of
water. A Surfactant is recommended with Tenacity to improve weed control and provide a better
stick to the leaf surface of the weeds. Refer to the product label for specific target
weeds and lawns that can be treated. The 8oz bottle of Tenacity can cover 1 to 2 acres
of property when broadcasting for weed control. This comes out to 4-8 oz per 30 gallons of
water per acre. Tenacity is a powerful herbicide, we highly
recommend mixing a temporary coloring agent, such as Turf Mark Blue, to help you better
view where you have applied the product and prevent overlapping. While no problems should
arise if you’re using Tenacity on turf that’s on the label, excessive overlapping of this
herbicide can cause temporary burn or loss of color in your yard. It won’t kill your
lawn, just temporarily whiten it. Color will return within a few weeks.

  1. I've used this, best product on the market. Kills the bentgrass, nimblewill and keeps your actual grass alive. You must use the surfactant.

  2. Is there a point when you could/should pull/dig the crabgrass out or do you just let the other grass overtake it?

  3. I ordered Tenacity from you guys, with the other stuff too. Ive applied first app of Tenacity, will do another in 10-14 days. Im going overseed Sept 1-7. Can I also apply some Scotts DiseaseEx now even though I just applied Tenacity? Thanks, JohnG
