Tha Chang Pier has four jetties. The two upstream
have turnstiles and are used by cross river ferries. The two downstream are used by river
taxis which stop at the jetty nearest their destination. The three main tourist sites in the vicinity
of Tha Chang Pier are The Grand Palace, Bangkok City Pillar Shrine and The National Museum. To visit the Grand Palace, walk away from
the river through the stalls, bearing right at the end. Cross the road at the pedestrian crossing.
Continue with the Palace wall to the right. Enter through the third gate. To visit Bangkok City pillar Shrine, walk
past the entrance to the Royal Palace. Continue, with the Palace wall on the right, to the
next main road. The Bangkok City Pillar Shrine is opposite. For the National Museum, bear left through
the stalls as you come from the pier. Walk on the opposite side of the road to the
Grand Palace and take the second road to the left. Continue for about 150 meters with Sanam Luang’s
