TM-1 Spoke Tension Meter

The Park Tool TM-1 Spoke Tension Meter accurately and reliably measures
the tension of each spoke in a wheel. This information can be used to calculate
average tension across the entire wheel and achieve optimal spoke tension, leading to longer lasting and better performing wheels. The TM-1 works on nearly any bicycle spoke and the included tension chart converts readings to kilogram force depending on material, size, and shape of the spoke. For steel spokes not found on the printed chart,
you can generate custom conversion tables using Park tools free Wheel Tension App. The Wheel Tension App also provides an interactive tool to record, calculate, and display tension readings for a more in-depth analysis of relative spoke tension. The Park Tool TM-1 Spoke Tension Meter is an essential tool for any wheel building or wheel truing setup.

  1. That's just an awesome tool. Hey I have one request. Can PARK TOOL be available on or in INDIA.

  2. Hello Minnesota, from Sweden !

I got a TM-1, works like a charm. I had little or no control of spoke tension until I purchased this excellent tool.

A little question: Would you experts think 100 kgf / 1000 N is about right for a 700C wheel, 2mm stainless straight spokes, 36 spokes, symmetrical dishing (hub-gear), Alu-alloy rim without reinforcements around the spoke nipple holes ?

    Thanks for any help.

I have once visited S:t Paul and Minneapolis in 1992, for two weeks. Too short time !

  3. Can anyone tell me, please, what tension is recomended for:
    hubs – classic DT Swiss 350 IS 6-bolt 12×142 & 15×100 ( no info )
    spokes – DT Swiss Competition J-bend 2.0×1.8×2.0 ( no info )
    rims – Stans Flow MK3 27.5 ( they say Max 125KgF/1225N )

As per your table the tension should be around 22 ?
